PANTOTHENIC ACID, (±)- is a racemic mixture of D-pantothenic acid and L-pantothenic acid. Only dextrorotatory isomer, also called vitamin B5, possess biological activity. Tht levorotatory form is an antagonist of D-pantothenic acid as was shown in animal experiments. NCATS
