Rescinnamine is an alkaloid isolated from Rauvolfia serpentina and approved by FDA for the treatment of hypertension. The mechanism of rescinnamine is not established, but probably resembles that of reserpine. Rescinnamine approval was discontinued by unknown reason. NCATS
